February 23, 2019 – Linux Containers on the Pi: A Server Farm in the Palm of your hand

Another container technology which can also run on SBCs is Linux Containers (LXC/LXD). Each LXC Container appears to have its own network stack. And therefore is much more flexible than Docker.

We’ll run 20 webservers all with individual addresses, all listening on port 80, on the Pi, something that can’t be done with Docker in its NAT-constrained world.

We have been discussing different aspects of the Network, however, we should also give consideration to Network Security. In fact, this should be part of your thinking when designing any network, not an after thought.

In this presentation/lab, we'll give a brief Introduction to Network Security and some basic pen testing tools.

Bring a laptop or similar device with Wireshark installed and we'll explore live Pen Testing in our "lab" network.

Afterword, we will go out for a beer/coffee.

NetSIG is a Special Interest Group focused on computer networking. Building networks for Today and Tomorrow! We will be meeting virtually and in person at the Quality Foods Small Boardroom at Eagle Ridge in View Royal.
