Jim will cover the details of Infra-Red Communications, including basic components (emitter & receiver), data encoding methods, external components & software, how to generate pulses, and how to receive pulses on the Pi Pico.

As agreed, we will try the OpenWrt VLAN + Guest Wifi lab again in the 27 February meeting. If you want to configure your own 5 port openwrt router, please upgrade it to the latest release, 23.05.5 (if you have a minimum of 16MB of flash on the router), and install 'tcpdump' on the router (to make trouble shooting easier).
I will bring a few extra routers for those who don't have one.
For those using Win11 laptops, if you have one, please bring an Ethernet dongle, as we learned, the Wifi didn't want to play on IPv6, which we will be using during the lab.

Bring your laptop with Wireshark, and an OpenWrt router (if you have one).

Afterword, we will go out for a beer/coffee. We'll be meeting in-person this month, at Quality Foods, View Royal, 27 Helmcken Rd #110. We will also setup a laptop in the upstairs small board room for those attending remotely.
We'll use Jitsi for the remote part of this meeting:
