Mark, that would work only if the QCollege iMac is on and connected to their network. Without support staff, there’s no guarantee of that. As for the HDMI-DVI converter, I have one of those and I think it’s bi-directional, but there is no DVI output on a Macbook — isn’t that right?
My advice is to buy the dongle, it’s a useful thing to have if you have a Macbook and IMHO part of the the price of having a Macbook.
