A few meetings back I mentioned that the DBeaver (https://dbeaver.io/)
database client can connect to SQLite databases. Well, I recently
stumbled upon LibreDB (https://libredb.org/), an open-source,
self-hosted client, that appeals to me more for home use. (You can also
run it locally with Node.)
They feature deploying it in a Docker container but I installed it into
an Incus container instead. I was then able to use the GUI to create
and connect to an SQLite database file, which is saved to a mounted
storage volume. (Think of the storage volume as a second hard drive or
partition that doesn't get wiped when you reinstall.)
The installation and configuration were quite straight forward, except
for the storage volume. That required stopping the service; creating
and mounting the storage volume; changing the systemd unit file; copying
any existing files over; and, restarting the service.
I'm still test driving it and haven't yet connected it to a MariaDB or
PostgreSQL database.
