Sorry Folks, I haven't had much time to attend the meetups lately. I have a time conflict on both Tuesdays and Saturdays through the summer.

I've been working with Prometheus (https://prometheus.io/) lately as a means for monitoring systems and Grafana (https://grafana.com/) for visualizing the time-series data. I know you can instrument an rpi with some Prometheus exporters and then make graphs and other visualizations, but I haven't tried this. If anyone is interested in this type of thing, I'd be willing to do a presentation. With my current schedule, a Fall presentation seems more appropriate.

On 18 May 2018 at 17:00, Stuart Hertzog <stuart@stuzog.com> wrote:

I could do a couple more on R over that period, spaced out and not on a long weekend, the first on Graphical data (graphs and plots), the second would probably be on Interactive Web pages and Dashboards, but that could change.

Hi Deid and Craig,

I sent a message to Saryta for feedback, but haven't heard back yet. (She has a lot on her plate right now; lots of action in the Capstone
br/>course, plus all the new programs coming online.) I'll ask herr when I see her.
The first year students would be interested in Pi applications, esp. along the lines of home automation and remote sensing.

The second year students will be taking the security course (and I am using the Pi for that as well), so security applications of the Pi
would also be great topics.
Hi Michael,

Our steering group met yesterday and yes we want to do this. Booking a room or a lab (whichever works best for you) for 9 to 12 on Sept.
22nd would be great. We typically have 10 to 15 attend, and having it at Camosun will, hopefully, add a bunch of Camosun students. We
could develop a small poster for local bulletin boards if you think that would be useful.

We have not scheduled a topic yet for that day, so if you have ideas of what we might cover that benefit your students please let me know.

Also, we typically as for donations of $5.00 to cover our Meetup.com and vicpimakers.ca costs. We were thinking of making it $2.00 for
students. But we are not sure if it would be appropriate to ask this at Camosun. If you think not we won't.

Thanks again for doing this. And again, any ideas for a presentation that supports your students would be great. Some of our recent
presentations can be seen on our web site http://vicpimakers.ca/ Scroll down past the pretty graphic.

Cheers
